Business challenge

D C Thomson are one of the biggest and most successful publishers in the UK. They own family favourite comics such as The Beano, Thunderbirds Are Go! and The Official Jacqueline Wilson Magazine. They recently became sponsors of CITV – and through this sponsorship wanted to make parents and kids aware of the great range of titles available.


Thinking back to when we were kids, we all had our favourite comic, and we were defined by what we read – we were either Beano kids, Dandy kids, Look-in kids, Bunty kids or Commando kids – to name but a few.

The idea

Each individual comic ‘tribe’ spend their day playing and having fun if very different ways. Using the limited amount of time of the 10 second idents to our advantage, we captured the frenetic fun of a day-in-the-life for each group.

The effect

CITV are have been very impressed with the positive feedback the idents have received and sales figures will be released shortly.
